SALIVA Singer Says NIKKI SIXX Helped Him Sober Up
October 9, 2008The Pulse of Radio reports: SALIVA has come back this week with a new single, called "Family Reunion", as the band gears up for the December 16 release of its fifth major label album, "Cinco Diablo". Singer Josey Scott told The Pulse of Radio that he feels good about the record, the band's upcoming tour, and most of all, his newfound sobriety, which he said he finally got thanks MÖTLEY CRÜE's Nikki Sixx. "Nikki helped save my life, you know," he said. "He got me into rehab out in L.A. and really straightened my life out. He actually gave me a rosary recently that was blessed by an archbishop and gave me this beautiful, solid pearl rosary for my ninth month chip. So I've been sober for nine months."
Scott also told The Pulse of Radio that his recovery has been filmed for a possible new reality series called "Hick Parade". The show, which documents the day-to-day life and activities of SALIVA, is being pitched to cable channels.
"Cinco Diablo" follows up SALIVA's 2007 album, "Bloodstained Love Story", which featured the single "Ladies and Gentlemen".
The group will join TANTRIC, DROWNING POOL and JET BLACK STARE on the road starting on October 17 in St. Petersburg, Florida.
